The CDM Regulations – The Client

ETD’s CDM Training Course will help Clients fulfil their duties under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015.

The CDM Regulations place specific responsibilities on every person involved in a construction project, including the Client, Principal Designer, Designers, Principal Contractor and other Contractors. This online CDM course focuses on the Client’s role and responsibilities under these regulations. The Client may be a person or an organisation. Either way, they are the party who has arranged for the construction work to take place – the person who commissions the design and construction. This has nothing to do with the party that funds the project. Clients have responsibility for the success of a construction project, which is why they must be familiar with the relevant legislation. This CDM training will help you understand the law surrounding the Client’s role. You’ll work through a simple outline of the legislation, important definitions, applications and duty holder responsibilities.
