Fire Warden – Refresher

ETD’s Fire Marshal Training Course and refresher course will show you how to protect your team in the event of a fire. 

If you took the Fire Marshal Course within the last 3 years, now is the time to revisit your essential role in the workplace. This refresher training will guide you through the following.

Risk Assessments

  • Identifying hazards
  • Pinpointing who could be harmed
  • Evaluating the risks
  • Recording findings and actions
  • Reviewing and revising regularly

The Role of the Fire Warden/Fire Marshal

  • Directing others to the evacuation point
  • Tackling fires if it is safe to do so
  • Helping people to leave the premises
  • Checking everyone has left the premises
  • Meeting the Fire and Rescue Services
  • Performing a roll call
  • Carrying out risk assessments
  • Attending the fire alarm panel

Why Fire Drills Are Important

  • Highlighting problems
  • Testing the procedure after any building alterations
  • Familiarising new staff with fire safety
  • Helping staff who aren’t fluent in English
  • Identifying any special needs arrangements

Test & Certification

If your employer has delegated fire marshal duties to you, you’ll need to complete the Fire Marshal Training Course and refresher to stay up to date on how to protect all staff and comply with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.

At the end of the online abrasive wheels training, you will be given a 20-question, multiple-choice test. The required pass rate is 85%. You will be able to download and print a digital certificate on completion of the course. A course certificate is 12 months for this annual refresher.

Duration

Main Course: Approximately 20 minutes (excluding time taken for the final exams).
